It is said that everything happens for a reason. In the past few months of my life in particular, I have discovered that there is an inevitable spiritual truth to this statement. Last year during spring semester, after a series of confusion and scheduling conflicts, my plans to live in a three bedroom apartment with just two of my close friends quickly became seven friends against my will. The mere thought of living with that many female counterparts did not sit well with me at first. To be perfectly frank--although these ladies were my closest friends—I was uneasy, frustrated, and unhappy with the circumstance. Little did I know that this was all a part of the master plan of a Power that is way beyond my understanding. Little did I know that the next semester of my collegiate career would be life changing.

The bond that I have been able to form with these ladies is unbreakable. On August 21, 2013 I moved into Morgens Residence Hall where I would be forming seven spectacular relationships. Most people I tell that I live in an apartment of eight are rightfully shocked, but I always make it a point to let them know that I would not have it any other way. I truly believe that God put us all in one

apartment to grow together, learn together, and offer support to one another. About a month into living together, we came up with the name Beta Beta Pi to represent the room. Although the chosen Greek letters were completely random, they represent the sisterhood we have been able to form with one another. After some debating we chose "50 Shades of Brown" as our colors which represents that we all strive to become successful women of color in the near future. I believe the relationships I have been able to form are all unique and beyond significant in their own ways.

I chose to make a video that compiles some of the good times we have had together this semester. One of my roommates, Jocelyn Williams, created bylaws that define who we are as a so-called "sisterhood." The laws are based upon our Christian faiths that we all value deeply. Together we have been able to grow as Christians and hold each other accountable for our actions—we all find it important that we stay rooted in our faith. The video is merely a 2-minute representation of the many fun times we have shared together this semester. There have been laughs, cries, disagreements, and frustrations that have truly molded our friendships. Three of the roommates will be on their first co-op rotations Spring semester and we will not all be living together again next year. Because of this, this semester holds a special place in my heart. There is a significant reason for this event in my life and I have been truly blessed to have had this experience.
